All District ROs & Dy. Election Commissioners summoned to Colombo

All district returning officers and deputy election commissioners have been summoned to Colombo today. 

Chairman of the National Election Commission RMAL Ratnayake says that they have been summoned to hold discussions with regards to the upcoming general election. 

It is reported that attention will be paid to the establishment of polling stations, the vote-counting process, and the direction of state-sector employees accordingly. 

Meanwhile, the National Election Commission says that the training on senior officials who will be on duty during the general election, has also been concluded. 

The Commission’s chairman RMAL Ratnayake says that the members of the National Election Commision are also yet to convene today.

No change in Litro Gas prices for December

The Litro Gas Company says that the prices of its domestic LP Gas cylinders will remain unchanged for the month of December 2024.

Chairman of Litro Gas – Channa Gunawardena stated that the company decided to keep the prices of LP gas cylinders unchanged despite the price hike in the global market, in order to provide relief to the consumers.

Accordingly, the prices of Litro LP gas domestic gas cylinders will remain unchanged as follows:

12.5kg – Rs. 3,690
05kg – Rs. 1,482
2.3kg – Rs. 694

Tomorrow’s Parliamentary session to continue until 9.30 pm

It has been decided during the party leaders’ meeting to conduct tomorrow’s (Dec. 04) parliamentary session until 09.30 pm.

Accordingly, the adjournment debate regarding the disaster situation caused by the recent adverse weather conditions will be held from 05.30 pm – 09.30 pm tomorrow.
