Fourteen Sri Lankan domestic workers returned from Oman early today (20).
Among the 14, six domestic workers had been staying at the “Suraksha” Safe House affiliated to the Sri Lankan Embassy in Oman since they had been subjected to various harassments.
Eight domestic workers who were accused of minor offences in the houses where they worked, and were found guilty by the Labor Court had also been deported.
A pregnant domestic worker was also among the returnees. They arrived at the Katunayake Airport at 04.50 in the morning from Muscat, Oman, by SriLankan Airlines flight UL-206.
