A woman who was arrested by the Panadura North Police last night (24) has died due to a sudden illness.
Police said that the deceased was a 52-year-old woman named Nayana Roshini, a resident of Diggala, Panadura.
Based on information that the woman was selling illegal liquor, a team of Panadura North Police raided her house last night (24).
Police said the woman was arrested with illegal liquor and suddenly fell ill while being brought to the police station.
Accordingly, the relatives of the woman have been informed and instructed to take her to the hospital, and the police said that the woman died on admission to the hospital.
A special police team has launched an investigation into the incident.
