The government has decided to collect income taxes from the owners of apartments at luxury housing complexes in the country.
In accordance with the decision, Commissioner of the Inland Revenue Department W.N.A.Wijesuriya said the companies that manage housing complexes have been informed in writing to provide information about the people who have bought apartments.
The Inland Revenue Commissioner’s letter said that this request is being issued to relevant institutions in accordance with the powers vested in him as per Article No. 123 (1) of the Inland Revenue Act.
