Applications called for post of CIABOC DG

According to the provisions stipulated in the Anti-Corruption Act No 9 of 2023 (as amended), applications are called for the appointment of the Director General to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).

For the said, the qualified persons should prepare the relevant applications in accordance with the format published on the Parliament website (“www.parliament.lk) falling under the quick links titled “Appointment of the Director General to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.”

The duly completed applications should be sent via registered post referred to the Secretary General of the Constitutional Council, Constitutional Council-Office, Parliament of Sri Lanka, Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte or via email to [email protected]  on or before the 28th October 2024.

The newspaper advertisement for this purpose has been published in the national newspapers on the 13th and 14th of this month.

Colombo Fort – KKS express to resume daily

Sri Lanka Railways says the Colombo Fort – Kankesanthurai Express train will resume daily operations within this month.

It is operating only on weekends at the present.

SLR says that the daily operations will now commence following capacity improvements.

Doctors say rest is crucial for children with flu symptoms

Pediatricians have warned that children showing symptoms of influenza may suffer heart damage if they engage in sports or strenuous physical activity.

Dr. Deepal Perera, Consultant Pediatrician at Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children, has advised parents to keep children with such symptoms at home and avoid sending them to school or preschool.

He has also noted that there are rising cases of Dengue, Chikungunya and Diarrhea among children as well.

KKS police station receives anonymous threat call

The Kankesanthurai Police Station has reportedly received an anonymous phone call alleging that around 10 police stations in the Northern Province would come under attack.

The call was received between 1:15 p.m. and 1:20 p.m. on 11 June, police said.

Police investigations have been launched in connection with the anonymous threat.

Meanwhile, the Police Media Division stated that enhanced security measures are being implemented to ensure the safety of police stations across the Northern Province.
