A jeep carrying the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of the State Intelligence Service, Eastern Province, collided with a parked car on the Southern Expressway, leaving the driver dead.
According to the Southern Expressway Traffic Police, three individuals, including the ASP, sustained injuries.
The deceased has been identified as A.B. Rizwan (34), a resident of Kalutara South Mosque Road.
The injured include the ASP, a Police Constable from the State Intelligence Service who was driving the jeep, and a passenger in the parked car. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
