Acting Minister of Women and Child Affairs and Social Empowerment Anupa Pasqual said that they will discontinue the ‘Asvasuma’ welfare benefit within 3 years.
As stated by the State Minister, a programme has been set in place to uplift the living condition of ‘Asvasuma’ recipients.
Furthermore, under the Samrudhi PLUS programme, they would be employed in various professions, and the State Minister said that the opinions of the Samurdhi Development Officers and the Samurdhi Managers are currently being sought in this regard.
