The first two auspicious times (Neketh) for the 2024 Sinhala and Hindu New Year will fall today (April 11).
The Sighting of the New Moon and the ‘Bathing for the Old Year’ will take place today.
It is stated that to observe the second ritual, the bathing should be done after applying the essence of Bo Leaves, followed by religious observances.
The 2024 Sinhala and Hindu New Year will dawn at 9.05pm on Saturday (April 13).
