The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Aviation has announced plans to construct a new passenger terminal at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake.
Minister Nimal Siripala Silva has confirmed the development, stating that the new terminal will play a major role in reducing passenger traffic at the existing terminal, which has been experiencing significant strain in recent years amid increasing passenger volumes.
