Immigration & Emigration section of BIA back to normal (Update)

The Immigration and Emigration process for passengers at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) has been brought back to normalcy after the computer system malfunction at the Immigration and Emigration section was rectified, the Chairman of Airport and Aviation Services (AASL) said.

Breakdown at immigration & emigration section of BIA

A breakdown has been reported in the computer system at the immigration and emigration section at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake.

As a result, immigration officials are checking passengers’ passports manually, Deputy Controller and Immigration Department’s Media Spokesperson Piyumi Bandara said.

She said that the software engineers are working to restore the computer system as soon as possible.
