Minister of Power and Energy – Kanchana Wijesekera states that cabinet approval has been granted for the electricity sector reforms bill today (April 08).
“Accordingly the approval was granted to gazette the amended version of the new electricity sector bill and to present it to the Parliament for approval. The bill will be gazetted this week to be presented to the Parliament in the last week of April. The public will have 2 weeks from the day it’s presented to the Parliament to challenge the bill,” he has said on a X post.
