The Minister of Transport has taking measures to secure Cabinet approval for an overhead metro project running from Colombo port city to Negombo.
This was discussed during a discussion held at the ministry auditorium.
The project proposes a 41km metro line running across 25 stations.
According to the Government Information Department, a private entity had agreed to invest US$ 2.5 billion in the project.
