Raids on cannabis plantations will continue until the government issues an order regarding the cannabis export process, the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) said.
The recently presented Budget proposed to appoint an expert committee to look into the possibility of growing cannabis as a crop for export.
However, the PNB pointed out that it is not possible to stop the raids until a proper recommendation is issued in this regard.
The Bureau said that inquiries are being made by various parties regarding the raids and destruction of cannabis plantations following the recent Budget proposal.
It has also been reported that false information is being circulated on social media, even though no official orders have been published or no expert committee has been appointed yet.
The PNB said these reports are completely false.
