Catholic church to reveal confidential info. on Easter attack?

It is reported that the Catholic Church has taken a decision to reveal confidential information regarding the Easter Sunday bombing attacks in 2019.

It is also said that CDs containing confidential information related to the incident Easter attack were recently handed over to the Catholic Bishops’ Conference and after the information is examined together with a panel of experts and lawyers, a statement is to be issued in this regard.

Responding to the ‘Deshaya’ newspaper, Director of Archdiocesan Social Communications – Fr. Jude Chryshantha Fernando has said that there is a possibility that its contents could be revealed to the public.

Certain information published in the commission report related to the attacks have not been revealed to the public, citing national security concerns. The Catholic church has repeatedly urged the government to provide them with the complete report.

Accordingly, on the President’s approval, the complete report was handed over on April 25 to Dr. Harold Anthony Perera, President of Catholic Bishops’ Conference.
