The Animal Production and Health Department of the North-Western Province has imposed a complete ban on the transportation of cattle from the North-Western Province to other provinces and from other provinces to the North-Western Province.
The decision has been taken to control a viral disease called Lumpy Skin disease that is spreading rapidly among cattle in the province.
Provincial Animal Production and Health Department Director J.A.S.Perera said that this virus has spread to 34 of the 46 veterinary officer divisions in the North-Western Province.
