Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe has refuted claims that he is drawing a salary of Rs. 2.5 million and a retirement package from the IMF.
Speaking at a media conference yesterday (24), he said that he is only getting a Rs.400,000 salary as the CBSL Governor and a pension as a retired CBSL official who has worked in the bank for 29 years.
All successive Governors receive a salary, an official vehicle and an official residence during their term of office.
MP Wimal Weerawansa had recently made such claims while speaking in Parliament.
