The service period of Inspector General of Police (IGP) C. D. Wickramaratne has been extended for another three months by the Constitutional Council (CC).
This approval was granted during a CC meeting held at the Speaker’s official residence under the chairmanship of Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena.
This approval given by the CC is to be forwarded to President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
IGP Wickramaratne’s tenure ended on March 26.
