Opposition MP Chamara Sampath today (March 14) urged the Speaker to grant a holiday for MPs tomorrow in line with the animal survey.

The MP told Parliament that the government has declared an island-wide animal survey from 8.00 am to 8.05 am tomorrow morning.

“We urge you to declare a Parliament holiday tomorrow. We need to go to our villages and count animals in our gardens. Who are we going to count animals in our gardens when we are in Parliament…’, he asked.
