Speaking at the party’s Kurunegala Council, he said that they would introduce a mechanism using the latest technology to bring everyone into the tax net.

23 institutions such as government agencies, Inland Revenue Department, Customs, Department for Registration of Persons, and Transport sector will be taken onto one data platform under the National ID number.

After that, no one will be able to conceal income, secretly import vehicles or buy houses, secretly own property locally or overseas, without revealing their wealth, he added.

Noting that this system would be implemented within a year, the MP also pledged to increase the tax revenue of the country by 50% in this manner.
