MP Patali Champika Ranawaka has been reappointed as the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Ways and Means.

Following a unanimous decision by committee members MPs Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Wasantha Yapa Bandara, Anura Jayaratne, W.D.J. Seneviratne, Sisira Jayakody, Udaya Kirindigoda and Sanjeewa Edirimanna, MP Champika had been unanimously proposed by Wasantha Yapa Bandara and seconded by Lasantha Alagiyawanna.

Following his exclusion earlier this year, MP Champika had alleged that his exclusion from the committee was influenced by individuals connected to the sugar scam and liquor deals.

In addition, Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapaksa announced to Parliament today (20) that MP Champika has also been appointed as a member of the Committee On Public Finance (CoPF).
