Colombo Additional Magistrate Manjula Rathnayake yesterday (28) issued an order to evict former Health Minister Professor Channa Jayasumana from his official residence which he is occupying illegally.
The Magistrate issued this order after considering a case filed in the Court by the Public Administration Ministry Secretary.
The ministry secretary informed the Court that the accused continues to occupy the official residence even after resigning from the post of Minister and requested that an order be given directing him to vacate it.
After confirming the facts, the Magistrate issued the order to evict the MP from the official residence given to him.
