Around 133 employees at the Brandix factory in Minuwangoda have come down with Chickenpox, reports say.
64 workers had initially returned to work after falling ill. This was followed by another 69 becoming infected.
Minuwangoda Police say that the sick employees have been referred to medical treatment.
However, it is reported that the reluctance of the company management to give proper sick leave has led to the spread of this disease.
