Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang has offered best wishes to Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena for New Year, which China considers most auspicious ’Year of the Dragon’.
Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka – Qi Zhenhong called on the Prime Minister at the Temple Trees Office in Colombo yesterday (Jan. 09) to handover the special greeting card from the Chinese Premier.
Ambassador Qi Zhenhong said he was pleased to see the resilience of Sri Lanka working overcome difficulties and assured China’s continuous support to Sri Lanka’s efforts in modern agriculture.
Chinese Ambassador said China would commence a program of sharing Chinese expertise on development of high-yielding rice with Sri Lanka and it would be launched in the forthcoming Yala Season.
Prime Minister’s Secretary – Mr. Anura Dissanayake and senior Chinese diplomats were also present during this occasion.
