Editor of the Ravana Lanka News website – Mr. G.P. Nissanka, who was arrested by the CID last night, has been remanded.
Fort Magistrate – Thilina Gamage today (March 06) ordered to remand him until March 20.
The CID informed requested the Magistrate to remand Mr. Nissanka as further investigations against the suspect are underway.
The Magistrate issued the order while informing the CID to brief the court of the investigation’s progress.

CID arrests a web editor!
A group of officers from the Criminal Investigation Department’s Computer Crime Division has arrested Mr. G.P. Nissanka, the editor of Ravana Lanka News website.
He was arrested at around 10.45pm last night (March 05) at his home in Pallebedda, Godakawela.
According to the CID officers who had arrested him, an article critical of the Army Commander had posed a threat to national security, leading to Mr. Nissanka’s arrest.
They had informed Mr. Nissanka’s father and his teenage son that Mr. Nissanka would be produced before courts today.
