The ‘Parapuraka Balaya’ organisation is to lodge a complaint with the CID over the recently revealed racket concerning a stock of imported cataract lenses that do not match the required specifications.

Speaking to ‘Sri Lanka Mirror’, National Organizer of the organization – journalist and activist Thilina Alahakoon said that a complaint would be lodged with the CID in the next few days.

General Secretary of the organization – Chamara Nakandala also said that they would raise awareness among the public in this regard.

With the Medical Supply Division revision refusing to accept the relevant stock, several of its officials have called for a re-examination of the stock in a bid to accept them.

The rejected stock was imported by the company – PTC Holdings (Private) Limited. On their website, PTC Holdings (Private) Limited has named Mr. Gihan Beneragama, Mrs. Gimhana Wickramasurendra and Mr. Jaliya Wickramasurendra as their Director Board members.

Despite a string of media reports, the company is yet to issue an official response in this regard.
