The Computer Crimes Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) informed the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court today that an investigation has been launched into an online train ticket scalping operation.
This investigation follows a complaint regarding the instant purchase and resale of online reserved train tickets, issued in collaboration between the Railway Department and a telecommunications company, at higher prices.
CID officials further informed Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali that a prompt investigation report will be submitted regarding this matter.
