The investigation into the disappearance of Rs.5 million from the Central Bank vault has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Police Media Spokesman Nihal Thalduwa said the Colombo Fort Police investigated the matter previously.
Officers of the Colombo Fort Police had recorded statements from several Central Bank officials regarding the incident.
The investigations were launched following a complaint made by the Central Bank officials that Rs.5 million was missing from the Central Bank vault.
