Revelations show that the value of assessed tax arrears in the jurisdiction of the Colombo Municipal Council exceeds Rs. 5 billion.
Colombo Municipal Commissioner Badrani Jayawardena says that Rs. 01 billion of this amount are overdues of state-owned institutes.
She adds that steps have also been taken to offer a discount to people who pay their assessment tax early in the year.
