The Constitutional Council (CC) is scheduled to meet on March 9, Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena said.
The CC members are scheduled to discuss matters related to the appointment of members for independent commissions including the Election Commission.
The Speaker said that several key decisions related to the appointment of members are to be taken.
New members are to be appointed to the Finance Commission, Procurement Commission, Audit Commission, Bribery Commission, Police Commission, Judicial Service Commission, Public Service Commission and Human Rights Commission.
