The contempt of court case against State Minister Sanath Nishantha was postponed to December 12 by Court of Appeal Judge Nissanka Bandula Karunaratne today.

The State Counsel who represented the Attorney General said that the preparation of the charge sheet related to this case is already underway, and it is necessary to obtain video footage related to the statement made by the State Minister from several media organisations.

Accordingly, the Judge issued an order to the private television networks and the media unit of the Sri Lanka Podujana Eksath Peramuna to provide relevant video footage before December 12.

The petition was filed by the Sri Lanka Judicial Officers Association, lawyers Priyalal Sirisena and Vijitha Kumara.
