The Court of Appeal has issued an interim order suspending the Cabinet’s decision to approve the purchase of 750,000 N-Series electronic passports from two companies.
This procurement is part of a larger tender for supplying five million electronic passports.
The order follows a writ petition filed by Epic Lanka (Pvt) Ltd and its Executive Chairman, alleging corruption and violations of procurement guidelines in the tender process.
Court of Appeal Judge Mohamed Laffar granted the interim order, which will remain in effect until October 1.
