The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) recently officially submitted nomination papers to contest for Dehiwala-Mt.Lavinia Municipal Council from the Nidahas Janatha Sandhanaya under the ‘Helicopter’ symbol.
However, SLFP General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara has complained to the Criminal Investigation Department requesting an investigation into an incident of submitting a separate nomination paper to the same Municipal Council from SLFP under the ‘Hand’ symbol.
He said the SLFP is not contesting separately for Dehiwala – Mt.Lavinia Municipal Council.
“I did not even sign such a nomination paper. However, a nomination paper with a fake signature has been handed over. I made a request to cancel it,” he said.
