The Supreme Court today ruled that the decision by the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) to expel its MP Naseer Ahamed from the party is valid.
The case was taken up before the three-Judge bench comprising Justices Preethi Padman Surasena, S. Thurairaja and Mahinda Samayawardhena.
Accordingly, the SC dismissed the Fundamental Rights petition filed by the MP requesting the Court to issue an order invalidating the SLMC’s decision to expel him.
