The Chief of Security at the Dehiwala Zoo had died following a tragic accident at the zoo premises yesterday (15).
The deceased was identified as 54-year-old Upul Senarath.
It is reported that a large tree located opposite the Dehiwala Zoo had uprooted and collided with an electricity pole, which in return had fallen on the victim, crushing him.
Mr. Senerath had been rushed to the Kalubowila Hospital with grievous injuries, but had succumbed to his injuries.
