The Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) has said the driving licenses that have piled up of late, will be issued within the next six months.
Commissioner General Nishantha Weerasinghe said over 900,000 driver’s licenses have been piled up thus far.
The delay has been attributed to the lack of printers needed to print the licenses.
Mr. Weerasinghe said the Department received three new printers this Monday (Nov. 27) and that measures have been taken to commence printing from this week.
