President Ranil Wickremesinghe said while working on the national evaluation policy his government has taken a decision to analyse the spending of the 10 highest spending ministries & the reports are expected to be submitted to parliament in all three languages.

He said this while addressing the launch of the National Evaluation Policy Implementation Framework at Temple Trees.

The President also said he had asked the Minister of Foreign Affairs to table a paper on the foreign policy of Sri Lanka by the end on the year and the Ministry of Defence will work on a long term defence policy for Sri Lanka, followed by other ministries in producing a national policy framework.

The President also noted that there is a big void in Sri Lanka’s system ; the absence of national policy, a significant drawback of a free market economy.

“We must have consistent policies. Parliament has appointed a committee that has given a report on national policies. Within this national policy framework devolution could take place,” he has added.
