Bonds have been placed on behalf of Dilith Jayaweera – leader of Mawbima Janatha Party (MJP) at the Election Commission this morning (Aug. 13).
Dr. G. Weerasinghe has placed the deposit on behalf of Mr. Jayaweera to contest the 2024 Presidential Election from the ‘Sarvajana Balaya’ alliance.
Several members of the alliance including MP Udaya Gammanpila were present at the occasion.
Meanwhile, Election Commission (EC) Chairman R. M.A.L. Rathnayake said that placing of cash deposits by candidates to contest the 2024 Presidential Election will end at 12 noon tomorrow (Aug. 14).
