The Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) requested the people not to travel abroad seeking employment opportunities on tourist visas.
SLBFE Deputy General Manager Gamini Senarath Yapa said that many people who went to the United Arab Emirates and Oman on tourist visas have become helpless without jobs.
He further said that the registration of people who wish to leave for foreign jobs on tourist visas has also been suspended.
