A man who consumed too much alcohol with a friend had cut off the friend’s penis with a sharp knife on Monday night, Badulla General Hospital reported.
The 55-year-old victim is a resident of Taldena in Viyaluwa.
The victim was admitted to the Meegahakiula Hospital yesterday and later was transferred to the Badulla General Hospital.
Hospital sources said the patient’s condition was not serious.
