e-gate & CCTV camera control room considered for BIA (Pics)
The Minister of Public Security – Tiran Alles has focused on the establishment of new e-gate counters and a CCTV camera control room at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake.
The observations were made while the Minister made an observation tour to the BIA today (17).
The minister also explained that a CCTV camera system will be able to analyze data using latest software technology.
Inspecting immigration counters set up at the passenger arrival and departure terminals, the Minister also discussed a ground plan to provide an efficient and effective service to air passengers as well as to provide immigration services in par with conditions at other international airports.
The Chairman of the Airport & Aviation Services Sri Lanka Ltd. – Major General (Retd.) G.A. Chandrasiri, Public Security Ministry Secretary – Mr. Viani Gunathilaka, Immigration Department Controller General – Mr. Harsha Ilukpitiya and airport officials joined this observation tour.
