The Election Commission has announced that lots will be drawn to allocate airtime for political broadcasts with regard to the 2024 Parliamentary Elections.
Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake stated that every recognized political party or independent group that has submitted a valid nomination paper should be provided with airtime for their broadcasts.
Accordingly, lots are to be drawn tomorrow (Oct. 22) at the Colombo District Secretariat.
Mr. Ratnayake has emphasized that only the secretaries of recognized political parties or their duly authorized representatives, as well as the leaders of independent groups or their duly authorized representatives, who have submitted valid nomination papers for the 2024 Parliamentary Elections, will be eligible to participate.
