Election Commission summons secretaries & officials over state property misuse

The Election Commission has summoned the secretaries of all Cabinet Ministries and Provincial Chief Secretaries for discussions today.
The focus of these discussions will be on the alleged misuse of state property.

Election Commission Chairman R.M.A.L. Rathnayake revealed that complaints regarding the misuse of state property have been received, prompting the commission to take action.

Additionally, the additional secretaries responsible for managing ministry properties and the officers overseeing these assets have also been called before the Election Commission today.

Notably, the chairmen of state corporations are also expected to appear before the commission.(News1st)

No change in Litro Gas prices for December

The Litro Gas Company says that the prices of its domestic LP Gas cylinders will remain unchanged for the month of December 2024.

Chairman of Litro Gas – Channa Gunawardena stated that the company decided to keep the prices of LP gas cylinders unchanged despite the price hike in the global market, in order to provide relief to the consumers.

Accordingly, the prices of Litro LP gas domestic gas cylinders will remain unchanged as follows:

12.5kg – Rs. 3,690
05kg – Rs. 1,482
2.3kg – Rs. 694

Tomorrow’s Parliamentary session to continue until 9.30 pm

It has been decided during the party leaders’ meeting to conduct tomorrow’s (Dec. 04) parliamentary session until 09.30 pm.

Accordingly, the adjournment debate regarding the disaster situation caused by the recent adverse weather conditions will be held from 05.30 pm – 09.30 pm tomorrow.
