District Returning Officers and District Assistant Election Commissioners have been summoned to Colombo.
Elections Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake announced that, there’s a discussion with the Elections Commission on Saturday.
The meeting will focus on planning the upcoming local government elections and addressing related issues. Meanwhile, the National Election Commission stated eligible postal voters, that the deadline for submitting applications is midnight on March 12.
Issuing a statement, the commission has notified the applicants to submit their duly completed forms to the respective District Election Office before the deadline. The statement further emphasizes that the deadline for accepting postal voting applications will not be extended under any circumstances.
Postal voting application forms are available on the official Election Commission website. Additionally, the acceptance of nominations for the Local Government Election will commence on March 17.
