The Elections Commission is scheduled to meet today (16) at 10.30 am, its Chairman Nimal Punchihewa said.
During the meeting, the EC would pay close attention to the future measures to be taken in view of the fact that the funds needed to organise the local government elections have not yet been released by the Ministry of Finance.
Meanwhile, the Department of Government Printing said that a letter was sent to the Treasury again requesting to allocate required funds to print ballot papers.
