The government has decided to immediately prepare a special system that will enable junior officials and employees to disclose large-scale fraud and corruption committed by senior government officials without any fear.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has also informed the government to ensure the safety of government officials who provide such information.

Meanwhile, Justice Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe said even if junior officials know about the frauds committed by their seniors, they do not disclose such information.

“They fear that if such information is disclosed, they will lose their job. However, through the new Anti-Corruption Act, a system is being prepared that will enable junior government employees to fearlessly and confidentially disclose fraud and corruption committed by senior officials,” he said.
