Former Minister Mervyn Silva and two others were further remanded until April 3 by the Mahara Magistrate’s Court today in connection with an alleged state land fraud case
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested Silva on March 5 for forging documents and illegally selling government-owned land in Kiribathgoda to a private party.
The case involves fraudulent deeds for 120 perches of land originally allocated for the Kiribathgoda New Town project.
In a related development, the court also imposed an overseas travel ban on former State Minister Prasanna Ranaweera and two others, who remain absconding.
