Exim Bank of Korea agrees to provide financial support for SL’s development projects

The Exim Bank of Korea has agreed to provide financial support for the development projects of the Government of Sri Lanka. 
This agreement was announced during a meeting between officials of the Exim Bank of Korea and Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake at the Presidential Secretariat today (Oct. 03).

Following the collapse of Sri Lanka’s economy, financial support from the Korean Exim Bank for development projects was suspended from 2022 to 2024. However, during their meeting, representatives of the Exim Bank expressed their commitment to offering subsidized interest loans for the re-implementation of these projects. 

They also emphasized their intention to support economically viable programs initiated by the Government of Sri Lanka in the future.Director of Exim Bank Won-suk HA, Deputy Director Hanui Han, Project Manager Nalin Jayathunga and Additional Secretary to the President Roshan Gamage were also present at the meeting.

4 SL players in ICC men’s ODI team of 2024

Four Sri Lankan players have been included in the ICC men’s ODI team of 2024.

Sri Lankan players Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Charith Asalanka and Wanindu Hasaranga have been named in this manner.

Also, Charith Asalanka has been named as the captain while Kusal Mendis has been named as the wicket keeper of the team.

2 including Salochana Gamage granted bail

Two persons including former Western Provincial Councillor – Salochana Gamage, who were arrested while allegedly accepting a bribe, have been granted bail by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (24).

Each suspect was granted bail, subject to a cash bail of Rs. 25,000, two sureties of Rs. 500,000 each, and an overseas travel ban. 

Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali also ordered that the guarantors must be close relatives of the two suspects.
