Fake ‘Kachcheri’ raided

Three suspects who operated a fake ‘Kachcheri’ in Elvitigala Mawatha, Narahenpita were arrested by the Rajagiriya Police Special Task Force officers.

A total of 260 different official seals, including the official seals of lawyers and justices of the peace from different areas, three fake identity cards, a service identity card, two computers and two printers used to prepare fake documents were taken into police custody.

The arrested suspects are residents of Narahenpita and Pallewatta areas and they will be produced in the Hulftsdorp Magistrate’s Court today (02).

Four Sri Lankan players have been included in the ICC men’s ODI team of 2024.

Sri Lankan players Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Charith Asalanka and Wanindu Hasaranga have been named in this manner.

Also, Charith Asalanka has been named as the captain while Kusal Mendis has been named as the wicket keeper of the team.

2 including Salochana Gamage granted bail

Two persons including former Western Provincial Councillor – Salochana Gamage, who were arrested while allegedly accepting a bribe, have been granted bail by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today (24).

Each suspect was granted bail, subject to a cash bail of Rs. 25,000, two sureties of Rs. 500,000 each, and an overseas travel ban.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali also ordered that the guarantors must be close relatives of the two suspects.
