A woman was found dead in the lagoon behind the court complex in Negombo, the Negombo Police said.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed.
Police said the woman was 40-45 years old, about 5 feet tall and was wearing a white and black striped t-shirt and a black skirt.
The body was placed in the Negombo Hospital mortuary following an autopsy.
The Negombo Police is conducting further investigations.
