The fire that broke out in the reserve around the Victoria Dam has been brought under control.
Police said the fire was extinguished last night (02) with the help of residents.
Meanwhile, District Secretary Prabath Abeywardena said that the Narangala mountain in Badulla has been set on fire by some group.
He said that many such fires were reported from the district.

Fire near Victoria Dam
A fire has broken out in the jungles in close proximity to the Victoria Dam, reports say.
According to the Engineer in charge, the fire has not posed a threat to the dam so far.
